Extend This House came about from from a project where the architect drew some incredible plans for my house.
We were in an end of terrace, two bedroom cottage with a second baby on the way, could afford to move so fell in love with the drawings to double the size of the house and add two bedrooms!
The plans were refused for several reasons, main being the ‘massing’…..we had gone way too big.
Unfortunately we now had grand dreams of a brilliant extension that had absolutely no chance of being granted planning permission.
The seed was planted for a platform where all the local and national panning rules are pulled together so that an educated proposal may be put together for the council.
Our mentality is: there is no point having pretty drawings if you can’t build it!!
Three years down the line and an amazing amount of research, Extend This House is now live, showing home owners and movers, how much you are actually allowed to extend a property.
